How an engagement runs: the first 30, 60 and 90 days, then every month
TikTok rewards accounts that launch on clean foundations, learn without interruption and refresh creative before fatigue hits. Our process is built around those three facts. Here is what happens, in what order, and what you see at each stage.
Foundation: audit, build, track, produce
The first week is discovery. We study your offer, margins, pricing, competitors, existing assets and anything you have tried before. We define the goal in one sentence, such as a target cost per purchase, cost per qualified lead or cost per install, and we agree on how it will be measured. The output is a short strategy document you can read in ten minutes.
Weeks two and three are construction. If you have no site, we build it. If you have one, we build landing pages that match the creative angles. In parallel we set up TikTok Business Center in your company's name, the Ads Manager account, billing and verification, the Pixel and Events API, GA4 and Tag Manager, and TikTok Shop with catalog sync if you sell physical products. Every event is tested with live traffic before launch.
Creative production starts in week two as well, so by the end of the month there is a first batch of vertical videos with distinct hooks, captions and sound, plus Spark Ads candidates from your organic account or from creators sourced through TikTok Creator Marketplace. Most accounts launch their first campaigns before day 30.
What you see by day 30
- Strategy document with goal, target cost per result and 90-day budget plan
- Site or landing pages live, tested on a phone through TikTok's in-app browser
- Business Center, Ads Manager, Pixel, Events API, GA4 and Shop configured and documented
- First creative batch approved and first campaigns live
- Dashboard live, weekly meetings underway
What you see by day 60
- Campaigns out of the learning phase with stable delivery
- Clear read on which hooks and angles earn watch time and conversions
- Second and third creative batches live, first fatigued assets retired
- Audience plan refined: interests, behaviors, lookalikes, exclusions
- Reconciled numbers: TikTok, GA4 and your sales data side by side
Launch and learn: protect the algorithm, read the signals
The second month is about learning without interruption. TikTok's delivery system needs a steady flow of conversions per ad group to leave the learning phase, and every structural edit resets the clock. So we resist the urge to tinker. Budgets rise in measured steps, changes are batched into the weekly review, and we judge creatives on hook rate, hold rate and cost per result rather than on a single day of data.
By now the first batch has told us which angles the audience responds to. The second and third batches build on the winners and test new directions: a different opening line, a creator instead of the brand, a longer demonstration, a Spark Ad of a post that is already gaining comments. We also decide where Smart+ campaigns should take over the targeting work and where manual control is still earning its keep.
Reporting matures in this period. The dashboard now has enough history to show trends, and the weekly commentary starts to make specific recommendations about offer, price and page, not only about ads.
Scale what works, widen the base
The third month is where the account starts to look like a channel rather than an experiment. Winning angles receive more budget, lookalike audiences seeded from Pixel and customer data expand reach, and Smart+ campaigns carry the proven creative to new pockets of the audience. We add retargeting for people who watched but did not buy, with messaging that answers the objections we saw in the comments.
Creative velocity stays constant. A new batch every one to two weeks keeps frequency and fatigue in check, and we begin a creative library that records which hooks, formats and creators have worked, so future batches start from evidence.
At day 90 we present a full review: what the channel costs, what it produces, what we learned about your customers and what the next quarter should prioritize. If the numbers say TikTok is not working for your business, we say that plainly and recommend what to do instead.
What you see by day 90
- A channel with known cost per result and a documented scaling path
- Creative library with winners, losers and the reasons for each
- Retargeting and lookalike structure running alongside prospecting
- First landing page or offer test completed with a written result
- Quarterly review and next-quarter plan
What a normal month looks like after day 90
Once the channel is established, the rhythm settles into a weekly and monthly cycle that compounds.
Daily
Account checks for pacing, delivery, policy flags and tracking anomalies. Nothing waits for the weekly meeting if it is costing you money today.
Weekly
Optimization decisions on budgets, bids, audiences, placements and creative rotation. Written commentary. The weekly meeting with your team. Action items logged.
Every one to two weeks
A new creative batch goes live. Fatigued assets are retired on evidence, not on instinct. Spark Ads candidates are reviewed from your organic and creator posts.
Monthly
Full review of the month, tracking health check, a conversion rate test on the site, new blog content and a roadmap for the next 30 days with owners and reasons.
Quarterly
Strategic review: offer, pricing, audiences, seasonality, budget plan. We revisit the one-sentence goal and update it if your business has moved.
Always
You own every account, asset and video. The optimization log and the handover sheet are current, so you could take the account in-house tomorrow if you chose to.
